There are 5 main disciplines in our department: Old Turkish Language, New Turkish Language, Old Turkish Literature, New Turkish Literature, and Turkish Folk Literature.

The aim of our department is to evaluate the texts in the field of Turkish Language and Literature literally and philologically, to teach the students the place of these products in the formation and development of Turkish culture at an academic level, by equipping students with comprehensive knowledge about Turkish Language and Literature, to train people as experts and teachers.

Graduates of our department can work as teachers in various private education institutions, especially the Ministry of National Education. In addition, they can work in the Ministry of Culture and various Ministries, TRT, private radio and television organizations, Turkish Language Association, archives affiliated to public and private institutions.
