Life expectancy is prolonged due to both scientific and technological developments and health awareness. As a result, there is a need and a demand for qualified physiotherapists. Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation is a discipline that aims to improve the quality of life of the patients who have musculoskeletal and nervous system disorders with a wide range of physical therapy approaches. The Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Programme at Fenerbahçe University aims to train qualified physiotherapists who will serve with competence in the different areas of physiotherapy and rehabilitation. The programme aims to train physiotherapists who would serve to make human life more active, independent and happy by equipping the students with the knowledge and skill for treating every type of injury that causes movement difficulties. Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Programme presents theoretical and practical lessons based on the basic principles of physiotherapy and rehabilitation with an expert, young and exciting academic staff and laboratories that are equipped with modern technology. The Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Bachelor Degree Programme Graduates; have knowledge of human anatomy and physiology and will be proficient in designing and practicing the treatment approaches. The graduates will have the knowledge and abilities to determine the physiotherapy and rehabilitation needs of the patients by using modern evaluation and measurement methods. They will be able to plan the treatment and perform the necessary procedures. The graduates will be equipped with the competency to perform physiotherapy and rehabilitation of congenital or acquired diseases, disorders and injuries. They will be able to perform preventive physiotherapy. The graduates will have knowledge of the characteristics of movement and its effects for therapeutic purposes and have the capabilities for organising, communicating and mobilising this knowledge and skill in an appropriate manner. They will be able to create the most effective and comprehensive treatment with a multifaceted perspective. The graduates will able to draw up a high-quality, evidence-based physiotherapy plan based on assessment, the client’s needs and clinical reasoning, and have the competency to contribute to the development and productivity of patients in a wide variety of venues.
