Political Science seeks an understanding of power. Politics is; ‘the study of who gets what, when, and how?”.
Political Science and International Relations Programme at Fenerbahçe University is designed specifically to allow students to develop critical analytical skills enabling them to explain, compare, and generalize about political phenomena in a variety of countries and employ the fundamental methodologies of the discipline.
The programme is designed to train students who will be able to critically examine the organisation and expressions of political, social, economic and cultural power.
The programme focuses on the systematic analysis of political structures, institutions, issues and events and aims to train professionals who are able to evaluate arguments and data in a scientific and critical manner.
Graduates can pursue a diplomatic career or be employed as a legislative assistant, a policy analyst, a public relations specialist, a political consultant, or as staff in a political campaign.
The Political Science and International Relations Bachelor Degree Programme Graduates; will be equipped with knowledge of politics, economics and law and how they are interconnected throughout the world.
The graduates will be equipped with the theoretical and methodological aspects of politics and an understanding of the contemporary global policy-making dynamics and issues and be able to put forward reasoned arguments and defend and modify them against criticism.
They will have the ability to analyse critical and routine problems in a scientific, logical, evidence-based and critical manner, and have the ability to organise work time, meet deadlines, and fulfil agreed objectives.
The graduates will have the ability to identify, investigate, collate and record research materials from a wide range of sources and kinds, and have knowledge of campaigns, elections, protest movements, policy issues and political ideals.
The graduates will have the ability to think critically and develop independence of thought. They will understand the relations of power and governance and will be equipped with practical skills in putting ideas across both orally and in writing, and dealing with critical responses.
