University Research Laboratory (Unior) has conducted a research to list student-friendly university cities in Turkey.

In the study, the liveability of cities in terms of university students was questioned and evaluated in various fields. The research report included the following findings: “We obtained the research data from 35,715 students studying at 188 universities, 123 states and 65 foundations in 81 cities. As a result,  students feel satisfaction in 26 cities they studied in Turkey. The university student capitals of Turkey are Eskişehir, Aydın and Antalya.”

The research is based on various sub-questions about how satisfied university students are from the city and its people. These are satisfaction from the city, in such issues as transportation opportunities, feeling safe in the city, entertainment, sports, relations with tradesmen, public attitude towards students, travel, social, artistic and cultural activities and solution of health problems.

The cities where university students are most satisfied are Eskişehir, Aydın, Antalya, İzmir, Çanakkale, Bursa, Muğla, Tekirdağ, Edirne and Ankara, respectively.

In the study, the city of Istanbul, which is highly in demand by national and international students, was questioned as two different cities as the Anatolian and European sides, while the Anatolian side of the city was 15th, the European side was ranked 20th.
