The Internet, which can be named as one of the biggest inventions of the century, has brought the dynamics and the facts of communication world to a new dimension. The Internet, which lies at the core of this fact named as new media and communication technology, has created the foundation of practices and parameters related to communication.
The students of New Media and Communication Department, just like in other departments of the Faculty of Communication, will take all of the joint disciplines as a general course within their first two years. As a result, our students can study the main courses in social sciences and the basic theories of communication with different approaches, history, philosophy, political science, media, law and international relations, so they can set a strong basis in Social Sciences before they further their education.
The candidates of the communication field who will have the opportunity to expertise in the New Media and Communication Department beginning from their third year will be given a program that will allow them to gain administrative competence removing all the issues analyzed above. Therefore, upon completing their two-year formation, each one of our New Media and Communication students will be directed to areas which they are interested in and planned for their future careers beginning from their third year.
Visual Communication and Design, Digital Media and Communication, Social Media and Communication, Creative Communication Strategies, Cyber Culture and Social Life, Social Media and Brand Management, Digital Campaign Planning, Mobile Marketing Communication and Visual Design classes for Digital Environments are some of the courses offered in the New Media and Communication Department.
In addition to these courses designed specifically for this department, our students will be able to choose a wide range of classes from a pool of selective courses, so they will have the opportunity to take classes that are not offered in their own department. Also, our students, who will be taught with a theoratical and practical approach, will have a chance to meet with partnering communication sectors while they are still in university.
