The midwifery profession in which maternal and child health and basic health services are successfully focused is extremely. Midwifery is the health science and health profession that deals with pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period,in addition to the reproductive health of women throughout their lives.

2013 Cochrane review concluded that “most women should be offered midwifery-led continuity models of care and women should be encouraged to ask for this option although caution should be exercised in applying this advice to women with substantial medical or obstetric complications.”

The aim of Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University is to train professional midwives to service in every field being equipped with knowledge and talents, absorbing ethic values, embracing a lifelong learning and having management and research skills in accordance with universal values, the realities and requirements of the country.
