The maritime sector is structured in two main areas as “maritime trade “and “marine tourism”.
Maritime and Port Management Programme at Beykoz University’s primary goal is to educate the students in the marine and port management in line with the needs of the sector in both maritime trade and marine tourism.
The students who prefer to work in maritime trade can work in ports, ship management companies, ship agencies, ship supply companies, brokers, marine insurance companies, line agencies and forwarding companies.
The students who wish to structure their career goals in marine tourism can work in marinas, yacht chartering and sales firms, insurance companies, yacht suppliers and other areas in marine tourism.
The aim of the programme is to educate maritime professionals who can provide added value to the companies they work.
The Maritime and Port Management Associate Degree Programme Graduates; will be equipped and competent in the field of maritime trade and marine tourism. They will be able to produce solutions by using analytical methods and contemporary information technologies to problems related to maritime activities.
The graduates will be equipped with the basic, theoretical and practical information about maritime activities. They will know the basic features of maritime businesses, evaluate similarities and differences in practice.
The graduates will have knowledge of the planning processes in the ports and marinas and the business cycles.
The graduates will know the national and international legislation and regulations and the necessary occupational health and safety, environmental protection, quality and continuous improvement procedures related to the maritime field.
The graduates will be knowledgeable in the logistics and supply chain processes to sea transportation. They will know the structure and basic operations of maritime transport field and the technical equipment used in ports and the general operations of the operational sites with the handling procedures.
The graduates will be equipped with basic knowledge of law, commerce and business required by national and international maritime transport.
