Today, with the development of technology and the rapid introduction of increasingly diverse communication tools into human life, the importance of graphic design practice has increased and the need for well-trained manpower in this field has started. The Graphic Design department within our faculty first admitted students with an aptitude test in the 2007-2008 academic year. In the Graphic Design department, where 20 students are entitled to receive education every year, students have the opportunity to develop both their conceptual thinking skills and practical knowledge and skills with a program shaped by a strong theoretical and practical curriculum as of their first year. In addition to the basic art education courses such as basic art, drawing and art history given in the first year, they continue their education with basic design lessons in the computer laboratory.

The students of our department will have the necessary equipment to solve the communication problems of our age with the courses they choose from the program, which is diversified with courses such as broadcast graphics, advertising graphics, illustration, typography, animation, graphic production techniques. In addition, the library of our university, located on the Uluyazı Campus, serves our students with a rich design and art collection for research on their homework and projects. In addition to their own training workshops, students of the Graphic Design department also benefit from our faculty’s original printing and photography workshops.

Graduates of the department can work in the graphics, advertising and publishing sectors as well as work as a designer in various institutions and organizations.
