Gastronomy and Culinary Arts has taken its place among the art fields that are increasing in our country as well as in the world. Our Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department was established within the Faculty of Fine Arts, whom technical knowledge and artistic equipment aim to develop our cuisine, which is an output of our country’s location and our cultural wealth, as it’s located in a unique place in the world.
Our goal is to train chefs who can use current technologies in the field with the awareness of authentic elements, talent and creativity, and integrate them with an improved sense of quality.
In this context, in addition to the curriculum designed with predominantly applicated courses , the internship obligation which increases the student experience with the support of professionals is also included in the education process. Students who successfully complete the department could be employed with different titles in many branches of hotel, restaurant, catering sectors. They could be research chiefs (test cooks), culinary scientists, food and beverage managers, food supply managers, kitchen managers, restaurant inspectors-coordinators, restaurant managers and such. They could work as food researchers, food writers, food processors, food stylists, food architects, menu developers, recipe developers, food and beverage trainers, gastronomy specialists, or they could set up their own businesses lines with their own expertise.
