With the Southeastern Anatolia Project becoming operational, significant environmental changes and negativities are expected to take place in the region. The region and the resources it possesses constitute an important research and research topic in this respect.

Therefore, the Department of Environmental Engineering, which started its operation in 1993, the year of Harran University, undertook a major responsibility for the resolution of environmental problems.

The first students of the division were taken in 1993-1994 academic year.

Currently 298students are still learning. An average of 30 students are added every year.

The language of instruction of the program is Turkish.

Students are entitled to a degree after four years of education.

Currently, there are 2 professors, 2 associate professors, 6 assistant professors and 3 research assistants in the Osmanbey settlement.
